About this dataset
This file contains the datasets and scripts required to replicate "Death Penalty Statutes and Murder Rates: Evidence from Synthetic Controls," as published in 2021 in the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies. Please note that the replication code requires several hours to run due to the computationally intensive permutation analyses. For best results, I recommend running the permutation analyses (code lines after 1020) overnight.
